The Crash - Illustration and Thumbnail Concepts
I wanted to prepare some thumbnails for an illustration about the event that happens at the beginning of the Main Story. This event is known as The Crash, where June, after four painful, torturous years trapped on the EGRS, finally finds a way to escape her capture, by breaking out of her solitary confinement unit and slaughtering all the staff members that contributed to Project V directly. She then gains control of the nuclear warhead that hides in the sharp bearing above the Control Station, and pilots the now split EGRS into the planet that it's orbiting, Charybdis. The tiny outpost of Ingolfsfell is completely annihilated and any surrounding cities and towns on the only inhabited island on Charybdis are obliterated as well. I wanted to understand how it would look from the perspective of the people of Ingolfsfell, so I have settled on one final style for the illustration.
